So it’s all busy with puppies…

Well there’s those that say summer’s so busy, and put it up in front as an excuse to not post.

Yep well, about that.

I’m always busy. (Let’s just pretend I don’t mean also a little lazy.)

I’m not the only one sitting around this summer. (Oh – a cliche sentence. Oops.)

Le’see – there’s been pups lying in the sun, kiddos on summer break coming over to see new puppies, and time to just  sit and play with the dogs. All good things, of course. 🙂

We were in the county fair again. Kiara and Tanner got two grand champion placings, one in showmanship and one in obedience. Josiah usually trains and shows Misty, but she had a litter of pups this summer, and it didn’t work out to show her, so he took Riley to the fair instead. Riley hasn’t been shown or trained before, so he didn’t perform as well – only one blue.

We have a new pastor of young adults, and his wife and kids were out for a few visits. We had them here once when the pups were just a few days old, but when they’re so little, we don’t handle them much, so we had the kids out again this month. Now the pups are just about the perfect age for the boys! The pups are about 8 weeks (ready to go home) and playful but not big enough to be very rough. The older dogs were very mild so we had some of them out also. I about died of adorableness just seeing how the boys loved the puppies and the dogs.

Misty and Abby are certified therapy dogs now, but we’ve been busy enough with starting school that we haven’t had them to any nursing homes or schools yet. However, it’s becoming more and more obvious that we picked the right two dogs – both of them are completely sweet and mellow and just loooooove being petted. It’s a happy combination on all sides, really. (Maybe I’m just a sucker for petting a pretty poochie.)

Weeeeeell that about sums up the summer! I’ll be back with pictures soon, I hope!
